Here you go!  I documented the whole process so you can see how it's done with ink and colored pencil.  Here are the tools I used to do the sketch and ink it in:



It's a fine pen, a gum eraser, a clicky pencil and a drafting brush.  The brush just makes it nice to sweep away eraser dust - it doesn't smear.  As with all art, any tool will do!  Make do with what you have.  These just happen to be my favorites

Then I drew over it with the ink pen and used the gum eraser to erase away the pencil.

Next for colored pencils! With pencils, you want to start with the lightest colors first, which is the opposite of what you think would be first. With colored pencils you add layer after layer on top, and blend them in. It can make for some fantastic color. So I added the lightest colors in first.

Then I layered in shadows and dark color and you can see how well they blended. I use Berol Prismacolors which are oil based and very expensive, but they are colored pencils made for professionals. You can use any colored pencil, including crayola, to get this same effect. Play with your pencils and see what you can do!
